Specific cross-borders objectives of the operation
  • Sustainable management and  recreation usage implementation of  the river Kolpa
is an objective, which aims to achieve an compromise between protection and usage, and to achieve a space for every visitor of the river. The aim of this objective is to enframe the visitor to protect and use the river at the same time.
  • Regulated infrastructure for recreation usage of the river Kolpa
Regulated infrastructure for recreation usage of the river Kolpa is the most important preventor of visiable impacts on the environment, erosion and the change of the flow. Other also positive but invisible impacts  of regulated infrastructure for recreation usage of the river Kolpa are also important . Regulated infrastructure will impact on people to enter the river at the places, that are the most inoffensive for the environment and will preserve  undisturbed zones that were set aside for the nature.
  • Recognition improvement of  the river Kolpa valley as a tourist destination
With the development of  harmonisation of  actions and with product development, the recognition of the river Kolpa valley will improve
Added value of IPA funding
Recon ciliated expertise, solutions and river usage system will have a positive impact on both sides of the border.  River usage regime that will clearly define the rules for every specific activity (sailing, fishing, gravel exploitation, etc.) will stimulate especially tourism development.  Up to now these activities haven’t been regulated. The regime will therefore have actual positive influences on the products and activities development on both sides and will preserve the area identity, connected to the river. Municipalities will regulate law frame that will be actually taken in action, what will have an impact on the whole area. That is why reconciliated agreements have to be made to avoid the obstruction of some activities. Erection of infrastructure will stimulate river usage on both sides of the river and add it new qualities. Regulation will have direct impacts on tourism development and future state of the environment by the river side. Realization of publictourism infrastructure pilot regulations, performance of management during the project implementation period and gaining the experiences and knowledge are benefits that will contribute to the regulation improvement of the area also in the future.  Know-how and knowledge gained on the project will be used by project co-workers also in the future. As none of the cooperating countries have no means for recreation regulation on the area with natural valuableness that is necessary, European funds have a great importance for the project realization.
